The term User Experience was coined by Cognitive Psychologist, Don Norman, in the 1990s. I was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in July of 1991. But even when I began my career as a Designer in 2011, the industry was still lacking an emphasis on user experience. Responsive web design was still a new concept, and mobile websites were often a different experience entirely, hidden within a subdirectory of the website. Fast forward to now. Mobile-first design and development is a given, and user experience is at the forefront of any well-seasoned designer’s mind.
Since 2011 I have worked with start-ups to large companies, helping to build, redesign, or refine their products and online presence. I’ve both freelanced and worked for agencies, and have been fully remote since August 2019.
